Ginataan - Ilonggo style

Ingredients

Glutinous rice.....................1 cup
Young coconut...................2 medium size, scoop with spoon
Ripe saba banana...............4 pieces, peeled and cut into cubes
Sweet potato or kamote......2 pieces, pared and cut into cubes
Tapioca pearl or sago.........2 tablespoon, small-sized
White or washed sugar.......1 cup
Coconut milk.....................1 cup
Glutinous rice flour.............1 cup, form into small-like marble sized

Preparation Time

30 minutes - 1 hour

Serves

4 - 6 people

Utensils Required

kitchen knife
Chopping board
Ladle
Spoons
Cups
Cooking pot

Preparation
  • Boil the tapioca pearl or sago until it cook well and take aside
  • Wash the glutinous rice and cook in the cooking pot with glutinous rice flour form like - marble sized
  • Be sure there's enough water before adding the sweet potato or kamote, saba banana, scooped young coconut, tapioca pearl or sago and sugar
  • Boil. Occasionally stir until the ingredients cooked
  • Finally add 1 cup of rich coconut milk or it may be added as topping before serving

Pinakbet

Pinakbet is one of my favorite dishes. This mouth-watering dish is very nutritious because it contains many good vegetables. Vegetables are essential in a meal because of minerals and vitamins abundant in them. They keep us more healthy and help us in protection against many diseases. I like cooking vegetables very much.
Try it !

Ingredients

1 - medium green ampalaya
2 - medium eggplants
1/4 - medium squash
6 pcs. - okra
10 pcs. - stringbeans
1 - small onion
3 - cloves garlic
1 tbls. - bagoong
1 tsp. - maggi soy sauce
1 tbls - vegetable cooking oil
1/2 cup - clean water
a small ginger


Preparation Time - 20-25 minutes

Serves - 3-5 persons

Utensils Required

Saucepan
Chopping board
Kitchen knife
Ladle
Spoon
Serving ware (bowl)

Preparation
  • Prepare the vegetables by washing well with clean tap water
  • Cut the ampalaya, squash, eggplant, stringbeans, okra into preferred sizes
  • Preheat the saucepan and put 1 tbls vegetable cooking oil
  • Saute minced garlic, sliced onion, sliced ginger then put all vegetables together
  • Add 1/2 cup of clean water then boil, add 1 tbls bagoong and 1 tsp maggi soy sauce to season
  • Cook until vegetables are tender but don't overcook

Morning rush

Good morning !
Today is Sunday,....church day !

I switched on my Laptop early morning to check emails and my blogs. Always eager to see what's there thats new for the day. I'm happy to see many visitors on my blogs and the comments they left.

I'm just a new to this world of blogging and I noticed that I'm now becoming more and more interested in blogging, craving for still more.

It's already 7:32 AM - time for breakfast.

Today is Sunday, I'm thinking of preparing a light breakfast.

Wait.... I will share it with you.....


Tsamporado (Quaker oats with Cocoa powder)

Ingredients

Quaker oats instant cereals - 5 tbls
Cocoa powder - 1 tbls
Plain milk (as preferred)

Preparation Time - 8 - 10 minutes

Serves - 1 person

Utensils required

Pot
Ladle
Spoon
Bowl

Preparation
  • Put 2 cups of clean water into pot and let it boil.
  • Then add 5 spoons of Quaker oats into boiling water.
  • Stir occasionally while adding 1 tbls of cocoa powder.
  • Finally, serve with milk
So you can see how fast I cooked my simple breakfast.
Yehey ! I'll now have this with a glass of ginger instant herbal tea granules.
